Batting lineup strategies

Hello friends!

I'm an American who just got into cricket after the world cup (I've tried to get my friends into it too, but after a while it became difficult to speak over all that snoring) I'm trying to learn as much as I can- however I have one question that I haven't found a good answer to yet-

How do the strategies differ between test cricket and ODI in terms of the batting lineup?

It seems to me for test cricket there are dedicated openers who know how to handle the new ball and also are adept at scoring?...Beyond that it seems the best batsmen are 3-6? How do you choose the order there?

For ODI are there also specialized openers? Or are the best batsmen put first because the emphasis is on scoring quickly?
And if Ben Stokes is a highly rated batter why was he at 6 during the world cup? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Thank you so much!
