SKNP vs SLZ (Match-7 – CPL 2020) – Dream 11 Prediction, Playing XI Probables, and Fantasy Tips

It has been a season of spinners and medium-pacers so far. There is only one fast bowler (there are four spinners and one medium pacer) in the top 6 wicket-takers of CPL 2020. Rayad Emrit, the Patriots captain, tops the list (along with Keemo Paul) with five wickets in 2 games.

The highest total, so far, in this tournament is 160/5 scored Jamaica Tallawahs, and the average keeps coming down match by match, shows that the batting in these conditions is tougher than it looks. On a Dream11 perspective, it is fair only to choose your team based on these analyses as this has been the story for the last six matches.

This blog is for the fantasy cricket players, where you will have Dream11 predictions and playing XI updates. Also, you can have a sneak into our winning Dream11 team composition.

Team News

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

This team, led by Rayad Emrit, lost both its games and sits at the bottom of the CPL points table for this season. Their losses have actually come from the misfiring of their heavy top order and the lack of contributions from the middle-order. Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis failed to convert the start they had in the last game. Also, the non-existence of someone who can go big at the death overs and a teeth-less batting depth is hurting them badly.

On the bowling side, they have their captain himself as the leading wicket-taker. Aside from him, there are players like Sheldon Cottrell and Ish Sodhi, who haven’t clicked yet. Sohail Tanvir had a good start but missed the 2nd game for the reason only the management knows. The absence in execution by their top bowlers is another reason for their losses. The management has to work on this to bring the best out of their players.

Possible Changes: They might bring back Joshua Da Silva, who played an anchor role in the 1st game, in place of a middle-order batsman. Sohail Tanvir is another possible replacement.

SKNP Playing XI Probables

Evin Lewis, Chris Lynn, Nick Kelly, Denesh Ramdin, Ben Dunk, Jahmar Hamilton, Rayad Emrit (C), Sohail Tanvir, Ish Sodhi, Sheldon Cottrell, Dominic Drakes/Jon-Russ Jagessar

St Lucia Zouks

The comeback win against Barbados must have done many better things for the Zouks unit, even though it was a short chase of 47 in 5 overs. They have their bowlers’ fantastic effort to thank for that. Scott Kuggeleijn and Kesrick Williams were brilliant with the bat, along with Mohammad Nabi and Roston Chase’s excellent all-round efforts. The team will be playing their 3rd straight game in less than four days, and one might see some replacement for this game.

Possible Changes: They might try the 22-year old opening batsman, Leniko Boucher, in place of Rahkeem Cornwall. The West Indian opener played for Barbados Tridents in the last summer, where he looked decent. Other possible changes: Chemar Holder or Kavem Hodge might come in too.

SLZ Playing XI Probables

Rahkeem Cornwall/Leniko Boucher, Andre Fletcher, Najibullah Zadran, Mark Deyal, Mohammad Nabi, Roston Chase, Darren Sammy, Scott Kuggeleijn, Kesrick Williams, Chemar Holder, Zahir Khan/Saad Bin Zafar

Dream11 Predictions

Here’s my picks for the Dream11 squad (type-wise):

Wicketkeepers:

Fletcher (mandate pick) and keep an eye on Joshua if he plays

Batsmen:

Can’t afford to miss either Lynn or Lewis from my side, especially when we don’t have much of other choices. Other picks: Zadran is in good touch, and so is Ben Dunk.

All-rounders:

Chase and Nabi are proving to be a valuable picks from constant performances from both bat and ball

Bowlers:

Emrit, Kuggeleijn, and Kesrick are my regulars, and Ish Sodhi could be a surprise performer for this match (hoping that the performances of spinners from other teams must have injected him some boost).

Fantasy Tips

Have a look at the matchday weather as that will play a crucial role in Caribbean T20s. The last match Zouks played was affected by rain and got shorten into a 5-over chase. In that situation, having your captain as a bowler or an opening batsman might help.

Captaincy Picks: I am going with the SKN captain Emrit as he picks wickets regularly this season. One of Evin Lewis or Chris Lynn should be the vice-captain. Switch the captaincy roles if SKN bats first.

Budget picks: Mark Deyal at 8 is a good pick as he even came into bowl and picked a wicket in the last game.
