Thoughts on Hansie for SA fans

We see Hansie's name being dragged through the mud, again and again, decade and more after his punishment and subsequent ban from the game. The crime was heinous. A SA captain admitted to fixing cricket games in India and asking the same from his fellow teammates - a few who did oblige.

The man himself was one of the best captains SA produced, immensely popular. And made a/some horrible mistake/s.

But, he did admit to it. Yes, not immediately. But, in the aftermath, he did. And it opened a pandora of worms. It exposed Azharuddin, Jadeja, Mongia, bunch of Pakistani cricketers in Salim Malik and the likes.

Remember, SA Cricket board rubbished the claims and so did Hansie initially, so this would have brushed under the carpet the same way Waugh and Warne claims were. In a sense, Hansie's confession first to Ali Bacher, then to the world was huge to bring out the depth of how deep rooted this really was.

Hansie made a mistake. He admitted it. Have many (particularly SA nationals/fans) still havent forgiven him?

No indulging in whataboutism but Jadeja is a regular making money giving his thoughts on the game. Azhar is president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association and apparently had a movie whitewashing him of all crimes (which apparently didnt do too well).

Isnt it time to forgive him too?

P.S. Not talking abt Hansie's death as that shouldnt be the reason to forgive him but may he rest in peace.
