I’m located near DC in United States and I love the IPL since I’m Indian. I never watched it but I recently got into it even though I’m 20.
I really would love to support KKR this season. But don’t know how to ship them here

The Super Kings haven't been short of talent by any means.
Rajasthan Royals have made a great start to the 13th edition of the IPL. No one expected them to challenge for the trophy, but they’ve won 2 out of the first 3 matches and are currently in the 3rd position on the table. One of the primary reasons why they are performing above the expected level is Sanju Samson.
The Kerala-born batsman has already bagged two man of the match awards and was instrumental in both their wins. Another batsman who has been among the runs for RR is captain Steve Smith. He has also scored two half-centuries this season. Moreover, he has been opening for RR this season, something he had never done earlier in his career. That makes it even more commendable.
Jos Buttler missed the first game due to self-quarantine. He has played the last two games for RR but hasn’t been able to hit the ball as sweetly as he has been hitting for the previous 2 seasons. Having said that, there is no doubt in my mind that Jos Buttler will score a lot of runs for them this season. That means that they have a settled core of 3 world-class batsmen. But what after that?
Ben Stokes was a vital cog in their middle order for the last two seasons but has been unavailable so far due to some personal issues. This has left RR’s batting order looking very top-heavy. In their 3rd match against KKR, the game was lost as soon as Buttler, Samson, and Smith were dismissed. This is a worrying sign for the Royals if they want to progress to the latter stages of the tournament.

The stats just solidify the fact that Rajasthan Royals have a weak middle order. Tewatia’s stats aren’t bad, but they are riding on the 5 sixes he scored in a single over against KXIP. Uthappa and Parag have had three opportunities to score runs but have failed miserably. David Miller played the first match in place of Jos Buttler and was unlucky to get run out before facing a ball.
This is one of the strategies they can deploy to add some bite to their middle order. Miller can come to bat two-down after Sanju Samson and before Robin Uthappa. As he is surrounded by right-handed batsmen, he will add a lot of value with his left-handed batting.
Moreover, Miller can act as a finisher if the openers and Samson have scored a fair amount of runs. He has the perfect balance of explosiveness and composure, which is needed in the middle order.
Riyan Parag has had some lackluster outings with the bat this season. He is used in the team as an all-rounder, but because they already have six bowling options apart from him (Archer, Curran, Unadkat, Rajpoot, Gopal, Tewatia), he has just bowled one over so far. Parag doesn’t offer as much value as a batsman compared to Yashasvi Jaiswal.
They will have to shuffle their lineup for this plan to work. Jaiswal will have to open the innings with Buttler. Samson and Smith can bat at number 3 and number 4 (inter-changeable). Uthappa and Tewatia will follow in suit.
A lot of teams have used a young Indian batsman at the top of the innings (Padikkal at RCB, Shaw at DC, Gill at KKR), and it has worked out well. Jaiswal is a very talented cricketer and offers the left hand-right hand combination at the top of the order, which is deadly.
As far as I’m concerned, these are the best ways RR could solve their middle-order problems. We have seen how a weak middle order can limit the effectiveness of a team like RCB or SRH in the past. If RR has to reach the playoffs, they have to look into this conundrum sooner rather than later.

In T20s Samson is better than Iyer/Pandey at 4, change my mind. Since especially Samson is able to hit both genuine pace and spin off length/short/full with a proper bat swing, with still head and without really moving around the crease much as Iyer/Pandey tends to do against good quality pace.
But knowing the ridiculous think tank of Bewda and Koach, they might end up choosing Iyer for # 4 (who I feel can hit spinners well but no so much against genuine pace like Rabada or Starc, and besides has an ideal tempo for ODI but not T20I) and Jadeja for # 7, which weakens the cumulative hitting ability of the top 7 and as a result, we may end up repeating 2016 T20 WC semifinals mistake where we may end up scoring 190 in a 220 pitch and WI or Eng will outmuscle us in the chase with their keep hitting approach.
No 7 is a huge hole. Jadeja is again more suited for ODI, since in T20 he is neither a hitter at 7 nor his bowling is wicket taking enough as a second spinner. (latest IPL matches and the 2016 T20 WC are enough evidence). With Hardik Pandya not able to bowl due to his back, we need 3 pacers so we can not play Kulcha together. Unfortunately we are unable to unearth someone for this crucial position in IPL. That and I wish we are able to unearth a good left arm pace bowler like Zaheer Khan (Akash Singh perhaps is a promising prospect) in the future.
The only other options for no 7 spin bowling allrounder from the players who have been given their India debut, besides Jadeja are Sundar, Krunal and Axar, of which my preference would be Krunal since he has performed in IPL finals before and has better hitting ability than Jadeja, Sundar and Axar. Left field, batting alrounders who can bowl spin options might be Riyan Parag or Abhishek Sharma, but don't see that happening as current team management are not known to blood someone young. Rahul Tewatia, like Samson, if he can continue on his all round contribution with late order hitting and some leg spin in this IPL and the next before the WC, might perhaps make a more than decent case for himself. (What a redemption arc would that be).
Nothing annoys me more than when you tell someone you like cricket and they say it’s boring but then proceed to say they don’t understand it. How the fuck can you say something is boring if you don’t understand it???? It makes no sense. And also, for some reason, that’s what people’s first response is like god forbid people have different interests to them. Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest.
Like is that an award leading run/wicket scorer gets at the end of the season?
KL's wearing orange cap last night, different from his mates. So like do they get the cap whenever they top the list and someone comes and takes it back when someone else surpasses them?
Will the new top scorer get the same cap KL is wearing now? Do KL get to keep his? What if KL again tops the list after few more matches, another Cap to his collection? Where does the madness end?
And do they swap caps mid match? Like if Mayank is 10 and KL is 5, is KL required to give his orange cap to Mayank?
Frankly I'd prefer AI™ predictive caps that change colors in real time to reflect leading toppers.
The refrain of Russell Wilson having never received an MVP vote has always been a bit unfair to the Seahawks quarterback. But it seems like it won't be relevant for much longer.
Much has been made about the fact that Russell Wilson has not had a single MVP vote to this point, this, despite being one of the better players in the league throughout his eight years in the NFL.
Of course, the refrain ignores the fact that each and every time Wilson has been great he has been unfortunately eclipsed by some sort of generational season from elsewhere. Last year, Lamar Jackson was a prime example of the fellow stars that populated Wilson’s stratosphere. Voters were not overlooking Wilson’s greatness, they were simply forced into submission by another candidate.
So Wilson decided this season to find a way around the process and insert himself at the front of the line: Leave no doubt, and destroy all opposing forces in the process.
After Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, a second straight five-touchdown performance, Wilson now has 14 passing touchdowns over three weeks – four more than the next closest quarterback and the most through three games in NFL history. You can scoop your hands into the analytical ocean and come up with any number of golden nuggets about Wilson’s brilliance; how he’s completing about ten percent more of his passes than he actually should be. That he’s averaging a quarterback rating in the high 130s. That his DVOA, which represents how much better he is than the average quarterback on a given play is a plus-59.5, by far the highest number in the NFL (for reference, Carson Wentz was a minus-69 heading into this week). That his bad throw percentage has never been lower. That his on-target passing percentage has never been higher.
All of this while his defense allows the opposition to creep back in ever so slightly, thus compounding the need for more offense.
Before the start of the 2020 season, we had a chance to sit down with Wilson and speak to members of his performance team about their outlook for the year. What was notable during that time was the near defiance with which they touted this season as the start of a new era for Wilson. There was a somewhat playful, yet not-so-subtle reminder that all the things we’d come to adore about the new generation of quarterbacks were attributes that Wilson had possessed for years (and he can throw behind his back, you know). That, when the offense adjusted to meet his progress, rapid growth would happen.
The Big Interview: Russell Wilson
Wilson has always been uniquely hard to game plan against, but was not always uniquely game planned for.
And so here we are. On Sunday against the Cowboys, Wilson was again unstoppable. As he continues to establish DK Metcalf as both a legitimate No. 2 receiver and once-a-week deep matchup destroyer, he continues to legitimize the decision to back away from a more traditional run/pass ratio familiar to Pete Carroll in his early coaching days. There is no better deep-ball quarterback in the NFL right now. Outside of Jackson, there may not be a more difficult quarterback to bring down in the pocket right now. Wilson has attempted more passes than 23 other qualifying quarterbacks in the NFL this year and yet, outside of Baker Mayfield of the play-action obsessed Browns, no one spends more time between snap to throw.
It all combines into a fairly incredible portrait of a quarterback who has been constantly evolving somewhere outside our consciousness. We often didn’t notice because our attention was diverted somewhere else.
Now, the question isn’t about how MVP voters could have overlooked some of the subtle nuances and improvements over the years. The question will be how they could possibly ignore them.

Since we are going to have post-match threads everyday for the next 7 weeks, I thought that it would be a good idea to make a template to prevent low effort posts that just say "A won by x runs". These posts are useless for anyone who did not follow the game. So here's a template that I think would be easy to copy and modify. If anyone can make a HTML page like this (used by the peeps in r/running for making race reports), that would be useful. If not, the mods could just add something like this in the sidebar.

With gopal and tewatia performing well, and multiple backups for unadkat. Joss coming in today pushes smith in the middle order. Their only weakness is a finisher which with the hopes of ben stokes coming soon can be overcome. Till then Tom Curran can play who is a great death bowler and was also one of the highest wicket taker in bbl even when he missed some matches. Their overseas players have been playing professional cricket recently and that will give them an edge against other teams. Also the england players will not leave by the end of IPL, I can see Smith and warne lead them to the final.

Stephen Fleming mentioned after the loss yesterday that they are missing Raina and Rayudu at the top, So the management wants him back. Raina decided not to take part in the IPL because of COVID fears which is understandable. Now he is traveling to Kashmir and meeting tons of people without social distancing or other precautions ( his instgram for reference). Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that he's helping Cricket grow in Kashmir but he too mentioned he wants to comeback. So why the heck isn't he back?
They dont have a proper experienced opening batsman. So they will have to play narine instead of risking tripathi/lad and gill both as openers. Russell is not the same. He is unfit, has injury scare related to his knees. Nikhil naik is untested. The only hope is that DK opens and morgan and rana provide them stable middle order and then russell/pat cummings be the finishers they hope for.
