Many of the fastest bowlers have a sling to their action; either as some part of their action or the entirety of it:
Tate, Johnson and Thompson are good slinging examples.
Lee and Ahktar are partial singers of the ball.
These bowlers use their strength to power through the ball like a catapult or trebuchet.
Then there are express bowlers who have more of a normal action. These bowlers always amazed me at how fast they could bowl with a smooth instead of power based action, ie; Holding and Steyn.
