Final Round of the BBL

Today and tomorrow sees the final round of the BBL, with finals spots up for grabs. Here is how each team can fair.

PERTH SCORCHERS

• Current position - 1st on NRR (32 points, 0.949 NRR)

  • Final game - v Heat
  • Best position - 1st
  • Worst position - 2nd (tied with Strikers, but ahead on NRR)

A win with Bash Boost point will guarantee the Scorchers top spot and at least two finals games in Perth. A loss will only see them fall to second, as they are far enough ahead of the Strikers on NRR.

SYDNEY SIXERS

• Current position - 2nd on NRR (32 points, 0.259 NRR)

• Final game - v Stars

• Best position - 1st

• Worst position - 3rd (tied with Strikers, but behind on NRR)

Sixers are still a chance to finish on top of they score more points than the Scorchers in the final round (the Bash Boost will play a part), but a win will give the a second chance. Where they will host finals games is a big question.

ADELAIDE STRIKERS

• Current position - 3rd (28 points, 0.170 NRR)

• Final game - v Thunder

• Best position - 2nd

• Worst position - 7th (tied with Stars, but behind on NRR)

It's all to play for. Win and they're guaranteed 3rd, and with results, second, but lose, and two out of the Hurricanes, Heat and Stars win, the the Strikers are watching the finals on TV.

SYDNEY THUNDER

• Current position - 4th on NRR (27 points, 0.931 NRR)

• Final game - v Strikers

• Best position - 3rd

• Worst position - 7th

Same as the Strikers - they win and their in the finals (and hosting a game in location unknown). Lose, and their relying on other results.

HOBART HURRICANES

• Current position - 5th on NRR (27 points, -0.159 NRR)

• Final game - v Renegades

• Best position - 4th

• Worst position - 7th

It's simple - win and they host the 4v5 final in Hobart. Lose, and they face a trip to Adelaide or Canberra (or a trip home to watch on TV).

*BRISBANE HEAT *

• Current position - 6th (25 points, -0.334 NRR)

• Final game - v Scorchers

• Best position - 4th

• Worst position - 7th

The Heat can still salvage a spot in the first knockout game, but need to beat the red hot Scorchers to do it.

MELBOURNE STARS

• Current position - 7th (24 points, 0.171 NRR)

• Final game - v Sixers

• Best position - 4th

• Worst position - 7th

By the time they play tomorrow night, they will know of they are playing for finals or pride only.

MELBOURNE RENEGADES

• Current position - 8th (13 points, -1.911 NRR)

• Final game - v Hurricanes

• Best position - 8th

• Worst position - 8th

The only thing worth playing for is to screw up the Hurricanes chances.
