TIL that Laura Wolvaardt, the 21 year old South African cricketer, is also a talented songwriter, singer and a medical student

So while I was looking through the Australian cricketers' Spotify playlists, I found a song on Megan Schutt's playlist by an artist named Laura Wolvaardt. Initially I thought it was just someone who happened to share a name with the young African opener, but out of curiosity I dug around and found that it was in fact the same person.

This article explains it quite nicely and also reveals that she's also in the middle of a six-year medical course at the same time as playing international cricket for the Protea women's team, which is honestly incredible. In addition she is indeed a really talented singer but has chosen not to go down a musical path.

Phenomenally talented young woman. As a cricket fan I hope that she continues to play for South Africa, she's one of my favourite women's players to watch and hopefully she has an excellent career ahead of her
