TL;DR - Looking to get back into cricket, what's a friendly club in Canberra?
So I've been reading Geoff Lemon's book Steve Smith's Men (which is phenomenal, a must-read if you're at all interested in what went wrong with the team culture in the leadup to Cape Town), and in a book full of pain there's one lovely passage about how good Australian grassroots cricket can be.
Naturally this made want to get back into cricket after a few years of thinking I didn't have time.
I currently live in Canberra and am wondering which clubs have a friendly culture. It's been a few years so I don't really have any connections on the scene anymore and would be going in not knowing anyone. I suspect I'd be a 4th grade player at best at this point.
All I really know is that I played juniors against Gininderra, who were like playing against pre-sandpaper Australia, and Tuggeranong Vikings, who were absolutely lovely blokes. Obviously, judging entire clubs based on a single junior team from years ago likely won't help me.
Would love to hear from any Canberran cricketers who might be around (will probably post this on r/Canberra too).
