Over the years, we have seen so many experts, cricketers and media talking against mankading. It's in the rules of the game. Still, the constant criticism around it discourages the bowler to mankad a batter when he is looking to leave the crease early to be in a dominant position to complete a single or a double. When every run in cricket is important and when there is absolutely no margin for error while ruling a run-out (a batter can be judged not-out even if he is a centi-meter inside the line), i think people should stop following the herd mentality and be completely open to mankading. In fact, according to me, if the players don't mankad a batter out, they should look to drop catches as well in the so called spirit of the game. Your views? [link] [comments] |
