With cricket about to return I'm curious as to who your favourite current player is from each nation. For me personally:
- England- Moeen Ali, criminally underrated player who in my opinion is an example of a 'stats lie' player he is much better than his record suggests, beard thats feared, glorious left hander will play the most elegant shot then top edge for a keepers catch, very dangerous LOs batsmen, vastly improved bowler these days as well.
- West Indies- Jason Holder, amazing leader given the captaincy young and inexperienced and has really turned this west indies side around, risen to the number 1 test allrounder rankings and first since Garfield Sobers to do so for the West Indies.
- Afghanistan- Rashid Khan, best bowler in the world across formats currently imo, future of Afghanistan cricket will depend on him continuing to play well, can play a nice helicopter shot for 6.
- India- Hardik Pandya, India's most exciting batsman imo especially in LOs, handy bowler, thinks he's gods gift to the world.
- Pakistan- Shadab Khan, stood out to me on Pakistans tour to Eng in 2018, had a breakthrough with the bat up the order in the PSL this year, reckon he will only get better with age.
- South Africa- Kagiso Rabada, best test bowler in the world behind Pat Cummins imo, incredible strike rate, taken around 200 test wickets and he's barely 25, only current seamer who has a chance to overtake however many wickets Anderson ends up with.
- Australia- Marnus Labuschagne, the insane steve smith wannabee, marcus loosebuschange, came out of nowhere and has risen to number 3 in the test batting rankings, handy legspin bowler, who doesn't want to see this guy do well?
- New Zealand- Colin de Grandhomme, the Big Man, had that dangerous handlebar moustache for a bit, flies under the radar alot in that NZ side but actually has a higher batting average and lower bowling average than Ben Stokes in tests.
- Sri Lanka- Lasith Malinga, the slinga still has it in LOs, afro, just an absolute legend and probably the greatest t20 bowler there has been, proficiency for hattricks and 4 wickets in 4 balls.
- Bangladesh- Shakib Al Hasan, shame about his ban but Bangladesh are a much poorer side in his absence, what an incredible 2019 CWC he had, arguably the best allrounder in international cricket.
- Ireland- Paul Stirling, big lad, can roll his arm over for some handy offbreaks in t20, Irelands best bat imo and a middlesex stalwart.
