Is Ravi Jadeja underrated as a test player?

Yesterday I saw a post mentioning Jadeja as 21st century MVP for India. I know its exaggerating as he didn't play that many test matches especially overseas. But its not his fault as selectors opt for 1 spinner and ashwin is preferred.

But if you see his numbers since his debut

Tests - 49 Runs - 1869 (35.26) Wickets - 213 (24.62)

For an all-rounder these numbers are very good and adding the fact that he is India's best fielder (probably the best in the world).

Now if we compare him with a regular batsman like Rahane (whose stats are poor, averaging 42 after 65 matches).

Now people will ask why I compare him with Rahane lets look at Jadeja's stats in last 3 years

Tests - 19 Runs - 818 (51.12) Wickets - 71 (27.63)

Did India miss utilizing Jadeja's potential to its full extent? Maybe give him the same role as Stokes. Bat him at number 5 or 6 (both Jadeja and Vihari can play). With number 7 as pant/saha.

For anyone who doesn't know Jadeja's first class batting record

Matches - 102 Runs - 5799 (47.1) He has 3 triple hundred (so he can play long innings)
