At what point are we going to stop calling scoops, reverse sweeps ect innovation?

A lot of these ‘innovative’ shots have been around for a long time and moreover have become a fairly common part of cricket in the last decade, so why does every time a batsmen play one of these shots the commentators call hail them as innovate or inventive shots?
