269 at 29.22...the average isn’t magnificent but looking down that list...not many are. I don’t know why it never occurred to me before that he’d top that list.
Closest is Gough with 234 at 26 and the only other with over 200 wickets. Broads in 3rd 178 @ 30, then comes Flintoff, wiping the floor with the competition average wise with 168 @ 23.61.
In terms of average only Derek Underwood betters Flintoff with 32 wickets at 22.93 then next closest are Bob Willis with 80 at just over 24 and Vic Marks with 44 at just over 25...
This started as a fact I’d learnt about Jimmy, it’s turned into being about Flintoff was possibly our best ODI bowler of all time...
