I was listening to the Aus v NZ test this morning and a colleague (weirdly, but not incorrectly) noted that there was pretty much a 0% chance of rain saving the Kiwis.
This got me thinking, what are the most gratuitous examples of rain "saving" a team? Games where one team completely outplayed the other, but through no fault of their own didn't walk home with the win.
Early Googling has proved unhelpful. Cricinfo has records of the closest draws by runs/wickets remaining, but what would be the "furthest" draws, the highest leads in matches drawn/abandoned due to factors outside of the game. Do any matches come to mind?
