Take a moment to appreciate what has passed : The golden decade of test cricket

I dont mean to sound like an old sod but whenever anyone praises any of the modern sides' accomplishments, all I do is look at the 3-4-5-6 of every side from the 2000s. Here is a list

Australia: Ponting , Hussey, Clarke, Symonds

India: Dravid, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Laxman

Sri Lanka: Sangakkara, Jayawardena, Samaraweera, Dilshan

Pakistan: Younus, Inzamam, Yousuf, Kamal

West Indies (this one makes me cry): Sarwan, Lara, Hooper, Chanderpaul

England: Vaughan, Kevin smashin Pietersen, Collingwood/Bell, Flintoff

New Zealand : Fleming, Styris, Taylor, Oram

South Africa: Amla, Kallis, Prince , De Villiers

The lockdown has made me watch a lot of these people in action from the 2000s and honestly, doesn't matter if Kohli or Smith or Root break whatever records, they aren't a patch on what has been and passed. And to think Murali, Warne , Kumble and co used to wreak havoc to genuinely decent sides is insane.

Which of the above is your favourite? I am not asking which is your team : mine is England. But my favourite has to be the West Indies four: Sarwan was as stylish as Bell, Lara is..well...Hooper was the casual leader and finally , finally Chanderpaul was one stubborn motherf*ker.
